Colombia......Here I come......(Part 6)

True enough, I was sleeping like a baby after the meal. The flight was smooth all the way without the usual shudder, bumpiness and turbulence. The alarm that I set, came on just about 3 hours prior arrival. I always make it a habit of going to the "loo" about this time when almost everyone is still asleep. If you does it after the meal.....gosh....the queue can sometimes be unbearable. You would have notice, sometimes, passengers going to the loo just when the cabin crew were out with the trolley trying to serve others. What an inconvenience it might caused !

After refreshing myself, I was looking forward for my dinner ! When it came it was in a form of a "Chicken Nasi beryani". A North Indian style sweetened fried chicken with spicy flavour rice. It comes with condiments - chutney, sour plum and raisins. Very appetising especially the spicy aroma. I don't know about you guys who are so used to steak and pies. I also do not know what to expect once I am in South America. So I am going to enjoy whatever last Malaysian dish I could. It was really tasty....but the portion is hardly enough for a long distance air traveller. Whatever it is, I am grateful to God for the fine dining and smooth journey so far! Looking outside the window, we are still above the clouds...........

Looking out.....ha ha the bumpiness coming soon ! Sun's setting....
I told myself, we still have two or more hours to go. My guess is we are over Germany from the flight paths on the screen in front of us. With the thick cloud below us, we can see nothing.....should be some form of shuddering soon as we begin to descent to lower altitude.

I was wrong, the pilot actually swerve away from the forming cold depression, we were into fine cloud cover later. We were flying at an altitude of 35,000 ft.....way above the cloud. The higher you go the less resistance and hence, faster speed and less fuel used.

I can't wait for the sound of the hydraulics indicating that the flaps have been increased and the landing gears have been extended. Still a long way to go eh. So I decided to put on my headphone which I bought on my last trip to London. A Bang & Olufsen. Great sound and it matches with my iphone set which, it were specially designed for. I love listening to instrumentals where all the various instruments played can be heard on the ear piece. Piano and saxaphone are my favourites. Thirdly strings. On piano....Ray Charles, Duke Ellington and Rick Wakeman. On sax.... Kenny G's, Dave Koz, Grover Washington Jr to name a few of my past time favourites. Guitars....I'll not miss Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Jose Feliciano, Carlos Santana to name a few. This first leg of my journey to London is most cherished because I am going to be fulfilling my lifelong plan to travel solo ! Life is good....................
